W. Washington, D. C. 20016 As always it is a pleasure for me as the Executive Vice President of the National Fraternal Congress of America to send w'ishes to you and the delegates assembled for your national meeting. The National Fraternal Congress of America is comprised of approximately one hundred fraternal benefit societies whose members, like yourselves, meet periodically. We are a population of societies and people from every section, of every background, of every type which the vastness of this nation produces. We come from the prairies, from the woods, from the old south and from both coasts, from the industrial east and the midwestern heartland, and we are different. As we differ as individuals, so also do we differ as societies. To bring unity, harmony and action out of our diversity is surely one of our major aspirations. From time to time, it will he clear that as individual societies you respond to different drummers, but I am convinced this need not be a weakness; it can be a source of strength. Through mutual respect for these differences and the richness of experience which our very differences bring to the decision making process, we can forge affirmative common goals. Our hope for the future will lie in the shared conviction that we are striving together for the same goal, a goal of better service for the people and the families of this nation. Best regards! Cordially and fraternally, JCkL Raymond A. Klee, Executive Vice President 12
