Rt. Rev. Árpád George: From the Office of the Secretary President Beky and the Secretary represented the Federation at the SUMMER YOUTH CAMP of Calvin Synod held at Camp Fairfield, West Fairfield, Pennsylvania near Ligonier. On August 13 the young people visited the Children’s Department of the Bethlen Home. 134 persons were the guests of the HRFA for supper. Following the dinner President Beky gave Bishop John Butosi and Rev. Arpad Antal, Camp Director a check in the amount of $1,000 as the usual annual gift of the Federation. The Secretary made a brief promotional address and distributed copies of our new brochure listing our new insurance plans. A copy of Mrs. Margaret Beky’s MY MOTHER’S HUNGARIAN COOK BOOK was mailed to the young people visiting the Bethlen Home. After the dinner speeches the young people visited the Home for the Aged Department, sang songs and participated in the inspirational Vesper Service. The Christian warmth, love and fellowship will he long remembered by the residents of the Home and the young people. A total of 78 youth and 15 adult counsellors attended the BETHLEN YOUTH FEDERATION CONFERENCE sponsored by the HRCA. The camp was held on the Labor Day weekend in Michigan. Dr. Tibor Halo, our Detroit Section Manager gave the Federation’s $1,000 donation check to Bishop Dezső Abraham and Rev. Stefan Torok. The Canadian protestant congregations held their annual summer camp for the young people in July. President Beky mailed a check in the amount of $300 to Rev. Ódon Seress in Toronto as a contribution of the Federation toward the CANADIAN YOUTH CAMP. Rev. Seress in sacred memory of his late beloved son became very active in youth work. He dedicates a part of his July vacation to the Canadian Youth Camp. We were pleased to he informed that our Toronto branch manager renders his unselfish services toward the Christian education of the Canadian young people. On August 29 the Secretary held a one day SALES SEMINAR with our Field Force members in Ligonier, Pa. The Secretary reviewing our new insurance plans portfolio pointed out an increase of term insurance variety available to our members. Mr. John Rigo, manager of our Homestead Branch No. 6 for many decades. With regret his resignation was accepted because of his advanced age. Our new decreasing term insurance known as mortgage protection “is becoming very popular”. Our 60 or 65 life and 60 or 65 endowment plans are purchased by members who do not want to pay premium on insurance after retirement. On August 30 the Field Force members met with the National Officers and discussed promotional problems in a true fraternal brotherly spirit. They recommended to hold two Production Contests for the fiscal year of September 1, 1975 to May 30, 1976. One would be for the Field Force, the other for the Branch Managers. On September 1 the DEDICATION WORSHIP SERVICE of the new wing building of the Home for the Aged was held. The Hungarian and English sermons were preached by the Rt. Rev.-Dezső Abraham, bishop of the HRCA and Rt. Rev. John Butosi, bishop of Calvin Synod. The Hungarian and English prayers were said by the Secretary and the Rt. Rev.
