COLLECTION OF DUES Despite the adverse economic conditions prevailing in 1974, we were able to collect dues assessments on time. Most of the branch managers submitted their reports together with the collected dues as prescribed in the by-laws and the arrears of individual members remained approximately the same. Our branch managers deserve recognition of the Board for the outstanding services performed in 1974. Continuous supervision of the branch activities, selecting new managers especially in emergencies, instructing underwriting and managerial duties are vitally important jobs which just cannot be properly performed from the Home Office. We have more than 170 branches. It was a very wise decision of the Board that “the field be restructured using Area Managers wherever and whenever a qualified person may be found.” Eventual automation of our billing system will very much lessen this burden on the line of dues collection.
