Participants of our New Jersey District Meeting processing of claims and the Controller gave expert answers concerning the operation of the Controller’s Department The Controller also elaborated on the building plan of the Bethlen Home. The old building was renovated to meet the present welfare building code of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The old and new buildings will have 100 bed capacity and their operation according to expert opinions and suggestions will be most economical. The Secretary pointed out that in spite of the unemployment, energy crisis and inflation handicaps the Federation made a substantial progress in the area of production. 1974 was the best year since 1970 in the increase in our insurance in force. The quality of production also improved. The amount of the first and second year lapses decreased. Our new life insurance plans were approved by the state insurance departments. The Secretary introduced the new application forms, certificates, riders, rate book and brochures. Constructive and helpful suggestions were made by the District, Section and Branch Managers. A few technical problems will be referred to the actuary or will be presented at the next Board of Directors meeting. Much more will be written of these very expensive therapy treatment equipment in the next Fraternity publication.
