or 98% of his quota. He was sick for two months in 1973. Mr. Frank A. Dance suffered multiple bone fractures and backache at his automobile accident in the early part of the year. He expects to start his full-time work for the Federation on April 1. Rev. Bertalan Negyessy also suffered from illness, and we wish him recovery. We expect our Field Force to perform much better in 1974 with the services of Rev. J. L. Carey in Trenton, N. J. and Mr. István Sándor in Connecticut and the Hungarian Boy Scouts. Recognition and thanks should be given for the excellent services of our Canadian Section Manager and his wife: Mr. and Mrs. John Szabó. Recognition and thanks should be given to our district office workers for their dedicated services: Mrs. Jolán Abel—Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Ida Bankó— New Brunswick, N. J. and Mrs. Ethel Teghze-Gerber —Lincoln Park, Michigan. Mrs. Teghze-Gerber went through surgery and is on her way to recovery. Her substitute during her illness will be Mrs. Margaret Beregszaszy who was and still is very active in the fraternal and social projects of branch 35. On February 6 in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, the Board of Directors of the Bethlen Freedom Press, Incorporation made important decisions concerning the future operation of the press. On the same day, the architect informed the Building Committee that the sealed bids of the contractors will be opened in March. The contractor or contractors selected by the Committee will start to build the new wing attached to our present building in April. Our Nursing Home by our new building project will be enlarged to a 100-bed capacity. Our district meetings with the Branch Managers will be held in April and May. At the meetings the Secretary will describe and explain our new insurance plans. Our new rates will be more competitive in the insurance market. Many communities were hit very hard by the present gas shortage. At the time of this writing, we hope that gas rationing will lie avoided. We appeal to our members not to expect our local Branch Managers to drive to their homes every month for the collection of the monthly dues. As the price of the gas escalates month after month, this may be the proper time to start paying dues quarterly, semiannually or annually. We encourage our members to cooperate with our Branch Managers in a fraternal spirit. We were sorry to read about the death of the late Paul L. Molnár, caused by a sudden fatal heart attack. He was the son of the late Joseph Molnár, the brother of the late Stephen Molnár who served our Federation for many years as Secretary. He held one of the highest executive positions of the International Harvester and Bell Telephone Companies. He was a God-fearing and church-going dedicated lay leader. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Paul and Thomas; brother, John; sister, Ethel; sister-in-law, Miss Sarah Kalassay. All the members of the Molnár family hold high teaching and engineering positions and are members of our Federation. Rev. Joseph Kecskemethy, my predecessor and superintendent of the Bethlen Home for many years, suffered a heart attack and is on his way to recovery. He resigned from his pastorate position in Passaic, New Jersey, effective March 31, 1974. He was a dedicated and faithful worker of our Federation and the Bethlen Home. He served the Passaic congregation for the second time for more than six years. We wish him and his beloved wife, Elizabeth Korocz, good health, joy and happiness during their retirement in Maine, near their children. WASHINGTON BRANCH MEETING. The annual meeting of branch 300 will be held on April 25th. Thursday evening, at 8:00 o’clock in the meeting room of the Home Office Building. All adult members are invited. Ferenc Koszorús Gyula László President Secretary HOW MUCH IS CASH? IN GOD WE TRUST proclaimed the sign hanging near the store’s register. EVERYONE ELSE PAY CASH. But what good is cash if its value changes from year to year? How can a man save for his retirement if the dollar he earned in 1950 buys half-dollar goods and services in 1974? IN GOD WE TRUST? Of course. But somebody will have to do something about that half-dollar dollar. * # * Plan ahead—Buy your Insurance from the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America.
