District Meeting in Cleveland, Ohio Manager for being excellent hosts at our Cleveland meeting. Mrs. Stephen Balogh, Mrs. John Molnár, Mrs. Frank Livak, Mrs. Anna Kara and Mrs. Vera Salem, branch members were also thanked for the delicious meals prepared and served for lunch and supper. The Secretary also attended the Ibolya Bál sponsored by the Women’s Guild for the benefit of the Bethlen Home. The Bethlen Hall was packed with supporters of our Bethlen Home. I was very happy to see Dr. and Mrs. Stephen Szabó (Vice President), Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Vargo (Board of Director), Mrs. Joseph Vargo, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Arnosky (Section Manager) working hard for the success of the Beth­len Benefit Ball. Mr. William Aros of Lorain, Ohio and Mr. William Szuch of Sharon, Pa., Board of Directors, were also present with their wives. On the following day, on April 29th Bishop Louis Nagy, superintendent of the Bethlen Home preached the Hungarian and the Secretary preached the English sermons at the worship services of the First Hungarian Reformed Church on Bethlen Home Sunday. On the same evening the Secretary extended the greetings to the Hungarian Reformed Ladies Con­ference held in Ligonier, Pa. Bishop Nagy invited the ladies to the dinner-dance sponsored by our Western Pennsylvania branches for the benefit of the Bethlen Home. It was a pleasure to observe that among the 116 ladies attending the conference many came from the Duquesne and McKeesport congregations belong­ing to the HRCA. All the pastors with their wives of the Western Pennsylvania area attended the con­ference in true ecumenical spirit. Mr. Joseph Molnár, Jr. also received thanks for writing his circular encouraging the Branch Managers to come to our Pittsburgh District meeting. He was highly praised for the good attendance and excellent 1972 production. Thanks were expressed to Rev. Dr. George Csia, pastor, and to the members of the Ladies Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Sala present an early Kaldi Bible to Dr. Zoltán Beky, president. Society for the delicious meal prepared and served. Thanks were also given by President Beky to the Committee members sponsoring the dinner-dance held in the West Mifflin Holiday Inn: Mrs. Yolanda Balogh, Mrs. Stephen Medve, Mr. Frank Yantek, Mrs. Rose Kovács and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Molnár, Jr. The committee donated the Bethlen Home $2,000.00. President Beky also gave the gold and silver awards of the HRFA for the dedicated and meritorious ser­vices to: Mrs. Yolanda Balogh, Mrs. Olga Darnay, Mrs. Joseph Molnár, Jr., Rose Kovács, Mr. John Rigo and Mr. Steve Üveges. President Beky also welcomed the members of the clergy, National Officers, the chairman of the Board of Directors, the legal Coun­sellor and the field manager of the William Penn. On April 30th, President Beky extended the greetings of the Federation to Calvin Synod at its 35th annual meeting held in Ligonier, Pa. The Sec­retary in his May 2nd closing devotion message praised God for His blessings He had so graciously bestowed upon the Synod. Thanked God for the contribution the Bethlen Home received through the Synod’s charitable project. Glorified the guidance of the Holy Spirit for the courageous ecumenical resolu­tion passed unanimously by the Synod. Following the brief closing devotion he installed the reelected mem­bers of the Synodical Council into their proper of­fices: Rt. Rev. Arpad Beretz, bishop; Rt. Rev. Aaron Elek, deputy bishop; Rev. Joseph Marsalko, secre­tary; Rev. Joseph Kecskemethy, treasurer and Mr. John C. Nemesnyik, Synod presbyter. We are looking forward to the success of the Indiana Harbor Culture Night and to the New Bruns­wick, New Jersey Fraternity Day. Both social events sponsored by our branches will be held for the bene­fit of our Student Aid Fund. Rev. Arpad George, Secretary 14
