To my Greatgrandmother

How still she lied In her bed,

Yellow roses near her head.

How still she lied In the Trenton Church The one in which she lived Most of her life.

As I kissed her cool cheek

As the last of the Radácsy sisters,

Took her turn and answered the call.

Since she is here no more,

Yet her soul still lives with us,

Forget the slander you have heard, Forget the hasty, unkind word, Forget the quarrel and the cause, Forget the whole affair because Forgetting is the only way.

Forget the trials you have had, Forget the weather, if it’s bad, Forget the knocker, he’s a freak, Forget him seven days a week ;

Forget the gray lines in your hair, Forget you’re not a millionaire, Forget the coffee when it’s cold, Forget to knock, forget to scold, Forget to even get the blues,

But don’t forget to pay your dues!

MY DESIRE

I do not ask Thee, Lord, for gold, Although my need is great;

Thou art aware of all my needs,

All glory, honor, fame and power Belong to Thy dear Name.

But Lord. I pray that Thou wilt give An understanding heart,
