President Beky recessed the Convention at 4:20 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. 77. President Beky reopened the Convention at 7:05 p.m. and turned the gavel over to Matthias Daroczy, Tem­porary Chairman. 78. Temporary Chairman Daroczy appealed for calm­ness and order during the elections as it befits the Federa­tion’s dignity. 79. The Nominating Committee’s report was given by Tibor Dolinszky, secretary. Dr. Stephen Szabó was chairman of the Committee. All candidates were asked to stand for identification. In the course of the elections, first the Com­mittee’s recommendations were read by its secretary, then nominations from he floor were added, if any, then nomina­tions were duly closed and ballots cast. Temporary Chairman Daroczy appointed the following tellers: Imre Bertalan, Dr. László Vatai, Andrew Kurimai, John Nagy, Julius Gaal. Total number of votes: 64. 80. Incumbent President Dr. Zoltán Beky alone was nominated for the office of President. The Convention elected Dr. Beky by acclamation and accorded him a standing ovation. The Chairman declared Dr. Beky duly elected president. Dr. Beky, visibly and deeply moved, thanked the Con­vention for the renewed trust placed in him and promised to continue to be a faithful president. 81. The following were nominated for the Office of Sec­retary: the Rt. Rev. Arpad George, the Rev. Stephen Sziarto (not present), Dr. Otto Hamos (declined), the Rev. Janos Nagy Pal (not present). Arpad George received 59, Stephen Sziarto 3, and Janos Nagy Pal 2 votes. Arpad George was declared duly elected secretary. The new secretary expressed his thanks for the trust placed in him and promised to (further the cause of the Fed­eration with his best ability. 82. Incumbent Treasurer Paul St. Miklossy and Zoltán Bottykos (not present) were nominated for the Office of Treasurer. Paul St. Miklossy received 59, Zoltán Bottykos 5 votes. Paul St. Miklossy was declared duly elected treas­urer. The re-elected treasurer thanked the Convention for the trust placed in him and promised to carry on his work in the future as he has done in the past. 83. Incumbent Controller László Eszenyi and Julius Gaal were nominated for the Office of Controller. László Eszenyi received 60, Julius Gaal 4 votes. László Eszenyi was declared duly elected controll­er. The re-elected controller thanked the Convention for his re-election and promised to work for his Hungarian as well as for his American people. 84. The Rt. Rev. George Borshy-Kerekes, Dr. Stephen Szabó and Stephen Syposs were nominated for the three offices of Vice-President. The Convention unanimously elected the aforesaid candidates and George Borshy-Kerekes, Dr. Stephen Szabó and Stephen Syposs were declared duly elect­ed vice-presidents. Dr. Stephen Szabó thanked in the name of all hree and promised to do their best. 85. Chairman Daroczy announced that in electing the members of the Board of Directors there will be separate ballots for the regular and for the alternate members re­spectively. 86. Presented as candidates for Director from the New York District were Andrew Kurimai, Gabor Csordás and Dr. Otto Hamos. Andrew Kurimai received 28 votes, Gabor Csordás 17, Dr. Otto Hamos 19. Andrew Kurimai was declared duly elected direc­tor from the New York District. On separate ballot, Dr. Otto Hamos was unanimous­ly elected and declared alternate director from the New York District. 87. Presented as candidates for Director from the New Jersey District Joseph Molnár, the Rev. Imre Bertalan, the Rev. Bertram Szathmary and Zoltán Szabó (declined). Joseph Molnár received 52, Imre Bertalan 42, Bertram Szathmary 33 votes. Joseph Molnár and Imre Bertalan were declared duly elected directors from the New Jersey District. 88. Presented and nominated as candidates for Alter­nate Directors from the New Jersey District were the Rev. Bertram Szathmary, Zoltán Szabó, Dr. Andrew Harsanyi and the Rt. Rev. Dezső Abraham. At this point the Conven­tion was reminded that according to the By-laws the candi­date receiving the highest number of votes will be alternate to Joseph Molnár and the next alternate to Imre Bertalan. This procedure will apply in the same manner in subsequent cases where more than one director is elected from a Dis­trict. Bertram Szathmary received 38, Zoltán Szabó 36, Dr. Andrew Harsanyi 16, Dezső Abraham 35 votes. Bertram Szathmary was declared alternate to Jos­eph Molnár, Zoltán Szabó to Imre Bertalan. 89. Presented as candidates for Directors from the Pennsylvania District were William Szuch and the Rt. Rev. Louis Nagy. William Szuch and Louis Nagy were unanimously elected and were declared directors from the Penn­sylvania District. 90. Presented and nominated as candidates for Alter­nate Directors from the Pennsylvania District were Imre Bota and Karoly Nagy. Imre Bota and Karoly Nagy were unanimously elect­ed and Imre Bota was declared alternate to William Szuch and Karoly Nagy alternate to Louis Nagy. 91. Presented as candidates for Director from the Ohio District were Elmer Vargo, William Aros and the Rev. Tibor Dömötör. Elmer Vargo received 52, William Aros 53, Tibor Döm­ötör 18 votes. William Aros and Elmer Vargo were declared duly elected directors from the Ohio District. 92. Presented and nominated for Alternate Directors from the Ohio District were the Rev. Tibor Dömötör, Ed­ward Molnár, Alexander Sebastian and Albert Bacsó (de­clined). Edward Molnár received 45, Alexander Sebastian 42, Tibor Dömötör 33 votes. Edward Molnár was declared alternate to William Aros and Alexander Sebastian alternate to Elmer Vargo. 93. The Rev. Tibor Toth alone was presented as candi­date for Director from the Detroit Section, Karoly Kiss was 16
