1 JOSEPH KECSKEMÉTHY: INTRODUCING OUR FIELD FORCE MR. ANDREW KURIMAI of 62 Soundview Ave., So. Norwalk, Conn., one of our most loyal Federation workers, is manager of Branch 52. Throughout the twenty years he has spent with us he has shown maximum interest in and devotion toward our fraternal institution. His work has always been commendable for which we compliment and thank him. Mr. Kurimai who is a carpenter by trade, has been married for twenty-seven years. His wife, Irene Mary, and he have three children: Glorilynn, Mark Andrew and Irene Mary. The Kurimais became grandparents for the first time in 1965 which year also marked their 25th wedding anniversary. Affiliated with the Hungarian United Church of Christ, he is a member of Consistory and is very involved in both his church and Federation work. MR. CHARLES TOTH, son of the late Rev. Kalman Toth of Staten Island, New York, was born in Burnside, 111. The family moved to Tottenville where he received both his elementary and high school education. He continued his studies in Scranton, Pa., where be became a professional chemist, which has been his field of work for the last 42 years. Mr. Toth is single, a veteran of World War II, and a Reformed Church of Rossville and Vicinity, where he is Clerk of Session. He is an active member of the American Legion, Telephone Pioneers of America, an ardent gardener and chemiculturist. He also does hospital visitation for the Federation, Legion and Church. Mr. Toth has an excellent record with the Federation, having been manager of Branch 228 for over 21 years. Born in Pest County, Hungary, MR. JOHN ZAKOPCSAN of Passaic, New Jersey, is an employee of the Passaic City Park Department where he has been working for the last seven years. He is married and the father of two children. Mr. Zakop- csan is affiliated with the St. Stephen’s Magyar Roman Catholic Church where he is an active member. His activities embrace not only the church but the community and the Hungarian Reformed Federation also, where he has been employed for the last nine years as manager of Branch 368, a group from St. Stephen’s Church which merged with our Federation. Manager of Federation Branch 47 for the last 22 years MRS. ETHEL GRILLO of Morgan, Pa., was born in Treveskyn, Pa. She received all her education in the South Fayette Township School. She has two daughters: Mrs. Evelyn Kelly and Mrs. Ethel Denorsek. Mrs. Grillo’s family is very closely knit. She, her daughters, sons-in-law and five grandchildren live side by side. All are members of the Federation for which we especially congratulate Mrs. Grillo. Our active Branch Manager has been a cook in the South Fayette High School cafeteria for nine years and is a member of the Gladden Presbyterian Church. MR. FRANK JANTEK first saw the light of day in West Homestead, Pa. His parents returned to Hungary soon thereafter, taking with them young Frank. He received six years of elementary schooling in Hungary, returned to the United States as a teenager and entered the Schwab Trade School, then Carnegie Technology, studying two years in each institution. Mr. Jantek has been a steel worker for the last 40 years. He recalls two outstanding events in his career; the first when the U.S. Steel Corporation purchased one of his patents in 1944; the second when he received a wrist watch from the same corporation in 1966 after 40 years of service. An active member of the First Hungarian Reformed Church of Pittsburgh and a Free Mason, his special hobbies include fishing, gardening and basebaall. He and his wife, the former Julia Kozma have been happily married for over 36 years, have two children: Frank, Jr. and Mrs. Margaret Hornyak and Akron, Ohio, has given our Federation a number of fine workers not the least of whom is MR. ERNEST SALA who, with his wife (nee Anna Rigo), resides at 856 Winton Ave. Born in Transylvania he immigrated to the United States as a youth of 17, settling in Akron in 1916. After having been in the employ of the B. F. Goodrich Co. for 43 years, Mr. Sala retired in 1962. During World War II he served in the Armed Forces of the United States for seven months. Though now retired he still manages Branch 165, is chief elder of the First Hungarian United Church of Christ, where Mrs. Sala also participates actively in all church work. The Salas practice their Christianity not only within the walls of the church but outside also helping their fellow- men wherever and whenever needed. And there still remains time for Mr. Sala to do gardening, which is his special hobby. A native of Transylvania where he also received his formal education MR. ANDREW SZABÓ of Canton, Ohio, is a veteran Federation worker, having been manager of Branch 140 for 27 years. He came to the United States in 1912 and returned for a visit to his homeland 52 years later, in 1964. Mr. and Mrs. Szabó, who have been married for 47 years, have one son, Andrew, Jr. The Szabó family is affiliated with the Calvin Presbyterian Church, where Mr. Szabó is a charter member. Now retired after 44 years as charge machine operator, our faithful Branch Manager enjoys gardening in his spare time. He is one of the first generation Hungarians who have given much of their God-given talent and time to their church and have participated in every major Hungarian movement. five grandchildren. 9
