C. 20016 Volume XLIV FEBRUARY 1906 Number 2 1896 . . . THREE SCORE AND TEN . . . 1966 Three score and ten, as found in the Book of Psalms, is written to be the life span of mankind. To an organization such as the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America, 70 years mean a new life and a new beginning. Now that we are united with our brethren in Canada, we wish to welcome them into our family and invite them to re­joice with us in observing this our 70th anniversary. In 1896, a small group of Hungarians assembled for the purpose of helping each other in times of sickness and death. Little did they realize that they would be instrumental in easing the burdens of thousands in the many years to come. Over the span of these 70 years, widows, orphans and the friendless have been aided by the Federation, not only through benefit checks from the Home Office, but their other needs have been also met by our Bethlen Home, in Ligonier, Pa., where our members received care as long as they needed it, or until they were once again able to readjust to normal living. It is always a good feeling to know that when I present a check to one of our members, or to the survivors of one of our deceased members, the true feeling of fraternalism is exem­plified when the usual business call becomes a visit made in the spirit of Christian brotherhood. In this day and age of rising cost of everyday living and higher cost of funeral expenses, it would surprise us to learn how inadequate our present insurance coverage has become. It
