2 FRATERNITY opening our hearts io Him. Do YOU live by this third blessing of the Reformation: prayer? Breaking down the interceding power of the saints, THE REFORMATION REAFFIRMED the teaching of the Apostle Paul, that "THERE IS ONE GOD AND ONE MEDIATOR BETWEEN GOD AND MEN, THE MAN, CHRIST JESUS." When we pray, therefore, we pray in the name of Jesus Christ . . . Do you use this privilege and do you go to Him in prayer daily through the only mediator — Christ our Lord? THE REFORMATION DID AWAY WITH THE SELECT CLERGY as distinct from the layman. It revealed to us that they, who followed the teachings of the Bible, are all ministers in the service of the Lord. Laymen, as well as clergy, all have work to do for God's Kingdom. Every true-hearted Christian ministers unto others . . . Do you accept this fifth blessing as a privilege and challenge? The Reformation SHOWED US THAT CHRIST IS THE ONE AND ONLY HEAD OF THE CHURCH, and fearlessly declared that He appointed no one to take His place on earth. Are you grateful for this sixth blessing and is Christ really the head, the governing spirit and the sustaining power in your life? The Reformation is still not over. There is much left to be done, and while we count the many blessings we have gained from the Reformation, we must think seriously of the work and unselfish service with which this great movement continues to challenge us. J. K. — Sec'y THREE SHIPS I saw three ships come sailing in So fair at close of day; Stewardship and Fellowship And Worship led the way. And what rare gifts were in them, Beneath the sunlight shifting, The sacrificial gifts and prayers, For living, loving, lifting. Dear God, the Father of us all, Increase our gifts, we pray, Till every nation in the world Shall bow beneath Christ’s sway.
