We have already chartered a plane for 145 passengers. This jet plane will leave New York for Vienna on Friday, July 30, 1965, at 7 P. M., and will return from Vienna to New York on August 27. This trip will be at the height of the summer season when tourists shall be able to witness harvest time in the Old Country. Members interested in this flight are requested to send their names and addresses to the Secretary of the Federation by February 1, 1965. The cost of the trip from New York to Vienna and return is $335.00; and from New York to Budapest and return, including visa, entrance fee and train or bus fare, is $420.00. If the number of applicants for the July trip will exceed the capacity of the plane, then we shall be able to reserve and charter a second plane which will leave New York for Vienna on September 20 and return on October 17. Passengers of the autumn group will be able to observe the second harvest of the year, which is the traditionally famous and always beautiful grape harvest, the “szüret”, in Hungary. In connection with the July group trip, the Federation will sponsor A NATIONWIDE SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST FOR OUR YOUTH. The scholarship contests will be conducted in either English or Hungarian, as desired by the individual contestants, who must be members of our Federation. The first group will include young people between the ages of 14 and 18; the second group between the ages of 18 and 22. Both groups will be examined in their general knowledge of HUNGARIANS IN AMERICA and THE OLD COUNTRY. The contest is to be conducted in the following eight districts: New York, New Jersey, Ohio, the District of Columbia, California, Pennsylvania, Detroit and Chicago.
