2 FRATERNITY with Series H Bonds, a check for your interest is mailed directly to your home every six months. Some are motivated by patriotic reasons and feel they should buy savings bonds to help curb inflation and assist Uncle Sam in meeting his obligations. Q.: "I know that a savings account goes right on accumulating interest indefinitely. But what if you hold a Series E or H Bond beyond the maturity date. Does it continue paying interest?" A.: Series E bonds will earn interest for 10 years after date of maturity. But Series H bonds earn no interest after they mature. Q.: "Is there any tax advantage in having your money in savings bonds instead of a bank savings account?" A.: Those who hold Series E bonds may wait and report interest earned after the bonds have matured. For those approaching retirement there may be an advantage in waiting and reporting this interest after retirement when their total income is lower. There would be no tax advantage in the case of interest earned on savings accounts or Series H bonds since this interest must be reported annually for income tax purposes. We urge our readers to join us and express their appreciation by borrowing this exciting book from the local libraries and reading this warm, human-interest novel. “There Are Secrets” is the ever-new story of a young man’s search for identity and fulfillment in life. This stirring book will be an excellent and appropriate gift to our young people and American friends, as a matter of fact to everyone wading through the inspiring, poignant narrative of a young man who shares the secrets of our lives, our tears and laughter, yet vividly portrays the heroic feats of World War II and its tragic reflections on our bleeding native land, the Old Country.
