8 FRATERNITY IF I WERE THE SEN If I were the heart of sushine, I’d give my heart away To every little storm cloud That ever came my way! I’d banish all the darkness Within the human heart, And there spin values, purest gold, Never to depart! Then I’d spread enchantment Born of moonbeam mist Become the blush of morning When by sunlight kissed. But most of all, in human hearts, I’d prepare a haven blessed For God, when He would enter in, To bring this heart to rest! EMŐKE PETKY STRANGE ARE THE WAYS OF GLADNESS Strange are the ways of gladness, Strange is — to us — God’s love, For He teaches life by its own sadness, Guiding from Above! We must learn of life from pain, To suffer it and take the Cross — Learning a love of life again •—- To learn of joy and shed our dross! Thus we start to learn to live A life of victory over fears, For death will win if we don’t give Ourselves to God down through the years! EMŐKE PETRY
