FRATERNITY 5 F. G.: “STRETCH YOUR HOME” Here’s how one owner of a moderately-priced home created an airy, comfortable outdoor living area, free from insects and harsh direct sunlight. He used translucent, corrugated Fiberglas-reinforced plastic sheets for the roof of his patio. He enclosed the sides with Fiberglas screening which won’t rot, rust, corrode, stain, dent or crease, and is glare-free. Chairs, planters, small tables and even the garden light are also made of reinforced plastic. The attractive screened-in patio shown in the accompanying photo is a fine example of what can be done by a homeowner of average do-it-yourself ability, provided he has a firm plan and goes about it methodically. This man is probably typical of thousands of owners of moderatesized homes who have discovered that to accomodate the physical needs of a growing family (and for more peace of mind) the original living area simply must be expanded.
