FRATERNITY 3 CLEVELAND WOMEN OUR GUESTS Two busloads of women from Cleveland and vicinity, members of the Cleveland Hungarian Charitable Ladies’ Committee — 80 in all — among them many members of our Federation and our Cleveland churches, arrived in Washington on Friday afternoon, May 3, to tour our Capital. Their first stop was at Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church, Knox Hall, where they were the dinner guests of our Federation. The fine dinner had been prepared by the members of the church choir, with Mrs. Norman Stant, nee Elizabeth Komaromy, taking the responsibility as leader-in-charge. We take this opportunity to thank Mrs. Stant and her group for their gracious hospitality. The secretary of our Federation acted as host and master of ceremonies. He extended the official welcome and his personal greetings to our out-of-town guests, as well as the greetings of our president, the Rt. Reverend George E. K. Borshy, who, because of another commitment, could not be present. Mr. Paul St. Miklossy, treasurer; Mr. László Eszenyi, controller, and Mr. Emery Király, retired treasurer, also spoke to the visiting group and expressed their best wishes. Congressman William Feighan, Representative from Cleveland; Congressman Vanik, and Dr. O’Connor, Director of the Bureau of Displaced Persons under Presidents Truman and Eisenhower, also addressed the group of their constituency. Mr. Bela Bácskái, secretary of the American Hungarian Federation, was on hand not only to extend his welcome, but to call attention to special points of interest in Washington and to invite the ladies to the laying of a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers on Saturday morning. In order to make the dinner a more festive occasion, selections from the “Csardas Királynő” and other duets were played on the violin by Miss Anne 0. Korocz of our Home Office, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Joseph Kecskemethy. We know that the women of Cleveland had a fine weekend touring our nation’s Capital . . . and it was a special joy and privilege to receive them as our guests since they have always been goodwill ambassadors of our Federation and enthusiastic supporters of our fraternal and charitable work. Cooperation and goodwill build brighter futures! OUR NEW SECTION OFFICE IN DETROIT, MICHIGAN We are proud to announce that for the development and further progress of our Federation, we purchased a new building located at 3719 Fort Street, Lincoln Park, Michigan, a bright spot for the better service of our membership, and a great advantage and convenience to our field force.
