THE STORY BEHIND THIS PAINTING

Many times I have been asked how I happened to paint the "Head of Christ" that has received such wide circulation since it appeared as a painting in 1940.

“Did you have a vision beforehand?” they asked.

“Did you feel Christ’s presence?”

“Did you have some kind of religious experience?”

The answer is yes to all these questions, but the real story behind the picture begins with a change that took place in my life shortly after my wedding.
