Editorial Office: Suite 1201, Dupont Circle Bldg., 1346 Connecticut Ave., Washington 6, D. C. Volume XL JUNE 1968 Number 6 TWELVE MILLION IN ASSETS For a few moments let us reflect on our President's editoriról in the Hungarian section of this issue, which bears good news not only for those who understand Hungarian, but also for those of our membership who are two or three generations removed and may not get the full impact of his message in the original tongue. By the time you read these lines, he says, our Federation’s assets shall have surpassed the twelve-million-dollar mark. This is a considerable sum, representing perfect security for those who are members of our fraternal. Accumulated in sixty-six years, this wealth belongs to our members! It is the fruit of their toil, as well as that of the entrusted officers of the Federation. Twelve million dollars! This is living wealth, which has been serving not only those with whom we have contractual obligations, but also those who need our fraternal charity within and outside our fold. We have always been loyal to our adopted country in which we accumulated our wealth. We were loyal when she needed our sweat, blood and worldly goods. We gave them willingly. However, we shared our blessings also with the Magyar people from whose land God willed that we be transplanted and become rooted in this country. We have practiced charity at home and abroad. God entrusted us with this material wealth, not to be buried in the ground, but to be invested so that it might multiply, thus providing more service and more security for more people. The Scriptures say: “Every one to whom much is given, of him will much be required; and of him to whom men commit much, they will demand more.”
