FRATERNITY 3 JOSEPH KECSKEMETHY: ITEMS OF INTEREST SECRETARY AND WESTERN SUPERVISOR IN CALIFORNIA The Secretary of the Federation, accompanied by Mr. Joseph Benedek, Supervisor of the Western Territory, spent a fruitful week in southern California last month conducting stimulating meetings in connection with the present sales program of the Federation. The Secretary presented an analysis of California’s production and general accomplishments of the previous year, and suggested various workable methods whereby the business from that large territory might be increased for the coming year. Mr. Benedek, in turn, worked personally with the local represen­tatives, and the results of his instructions, as well as organizational work, are already showing a marked increase in production. The Hungarian Reformed Church Group in San Fernando Valley, Calif. The Secretary shared much of his time with church and civic groups, and was guest speaker at various March 15 celebrations. On Sunday, March 18, he preached at the First Hungarian Reformed Church, where the Reverend Antal Szabó is pastor. That afternoon he was guest speaker for a March 15 gathering in the San Fernando Valley Hungarian Re­formed Church, where the Reverend László Kecskemethy is pastor. Later in the day he spoke in Exposition Park, before the Kossuth statue in Los Angeles, where the Hungarians gathered to commemorate the 114th anniversary of the achievements of our great Champion of Liberty, Louis Kossuth. On March 19, he held an official meeting with the Los Angeles representatives and arranged a dinner for them and their families. The
