8 FRATERNITY JOSEPH KECSKEMETHY: ITEMS OF INTEREST FAMILY SECURITY CONTEST Our members and co-workers have been aware that last year our Federation introduced its newest type of insurance — THE FAMILY SECURITY PLAN. This new plan insures families as units on one certificate at most reasonable rates. Each unit includes the father, mother, all present as well as subsequently born children up to age 22. In order that this new plan might be properly introduced and that families throughout the country might avail themselves of its unusual benefits, we conducted a nationwide membership drive, THE FAMILY SECURITY CONTEST, from May 15 through December 15, 1959. During this drive all insurance applications complying with the rules of the contest, sent to the Home Office by eligible contestants, postmarked not later than December 15 and received not later than December 22, were duly credited to the contestants. This contest, the rules of which can be found in the May 1959 issue of our “Fraternity”, was closed on the originally designated date. However, since all the departments in our Home Office were flooded with end-of-the-year work and because we lost two working days during the holiday season, we were unable to complete the work of tabulating the results of the contest in time for this issue. Therefore, please note that the final results of our Family Security Contest will be published in our next (February) issue of “Fraternity”. Until then, may I wish all our fellow-workers health, strength, bountiful blessings, peace and prosperity, as well as continued success in the field of underwriting throughout this New Year! PROMOTION It is with justifiable pride that we learned of an exceptional talent within our membership in the field of aircraft engineering. At the youthful age of 31, Mr. Louis A. Urban, son of the Rev. and Mrs. Joseph Urbana of Hazardville, Conn., was promoted to the position of Senior Project Engineer of the Hamilton Standard, Division of United Aircraft Coporation of Springfield, Mass. He has been connected with this company since 1954. Mr. Urban and his family reside in Granby, Conn. Both he and his children are members of our Federation. Mr. Joseph D. Urban, brother of Louis Urban, is also associated with an aircraft company where he is Supervisor of the Experimental Planning and Control Department. Both young men are members of management in their respective companies. It is a distinct joy for us to congratulate both of these fine young gentlemen, especially so, because we have known them since their childhood. Our staff and Federation membership also wish to extend heartfelt congratulations to the Urban brothers on their outstanding achievements and best wishes for continued success in their chosen fields of endeavor. May we also especially congratulate and recognize the parents, the Reverend and Mrs. Joseph Urban, who gave two such fine men to American science and engineering. God has blessed them richly.
