FRATERNITY 3 The guest appearance of the Bridgeport senior choir, conducted by Miss Ethel Egry, added a fine artistic touch to our services. Their “Magyar Miatyánk” moved everybody to tears. We feel obliged to extend our gratitude to Miss Egry and to every member of her wonderful choir. ★ ★ ★ The divine services were followed by a reception in the social hall of the church during which the choir sang beautiful Hungarian folk songs and Dr. Gabor Ujfalusy entertained our guests with his talented piano numbers. BANTAM BOOKS PUBLISHES “THE BRIDGE AT ANDAU”, MARKING THE FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF THE HUNGARIAN REVOLUTION The Freedom Fighters of Hungary are once more in the news, since Prince Wan Waithayakon of Thailand has been named by the United Nations as a special envoy to try to persuade Russia and Hungary to comply with previous U. N. resolutions aimed at relieving the plight of the Hungarian people. The most widely hailed description of the Hungarian Revolution of October, 1956, THE BRIDGE AT ANDAU, James A. Michener’s dramatic, eye-witness report of that world-shaking event, is now available everywhere in a 35-cent Bantam Books edition. James A. Michener, the Pulitzer Prize-winning American novelist, helped many freedom-loving Hungarians escape across “the bridge at Andau”, and in this eloquent book he tells the story of the Heroes of Budapest as it was seen through the eyes of those who made the revolution just one year ago this month (October). THE BRIDGE AT ANDAU is the story of Hungary’s Revolution written by a great author, a fine journalist and a great humanitarian. It is a book that no one who believes in the dignity of the human spirit should miss. THE BRIDGE AT ANDAU is on sale at newsstands, drug stores, book stores, and wherever paper-bound books are sold, for only 35 cents.
