If anyone suspects that such a difference might exist in his or her own vital statistics, the best way is to get in touch with the Home Office and straighten the matter out as soon as possible. * HERE IS A CLASSIC example to illustrate the foregoing lines, which became known only a short time ago. A1 Jolson, the famous singing comedian insured his life for $400,000.00. On basis of published information his age was generally believed to be 63 or 64 at his death. The insurance companies, however, unearthed some evidence that he was actually seven or eight years older. If they are right, the amount to be payable to Jolson’s beneficiaries will be $278,000.00, that is * $122,000.00 less than the policies called for, which is quite a difference. This means that with the premiums actually paid, Jolson did not buy a death benefit worth $400,000.00, but only $278,000.00. The same thing happens, only on a much smaller scale, when age difference is discovered in our own fraternal business. Par. 107 of the By-Laws explains all this. Read it, — your might benefit by it, because postponing the adjustment, if it is needed, hurts only you and your loved ones. * IN DETROIT, MICH, our First Church celebrated the tenth anniversary of the local ministry of its pastor, the Rev. Zoltán Vajda, with appropriate festivities. President Újlaki was the guest of honor, preaching the gospel of peace and understanding to a very large congregation, which displayed many proofs of appreciation and loyalty to its popular leader, whose hard and faithful work is so marked in the church and in the entire Hungarian community. The present writer took part in the 35th anniversary and organ-dedication festivities in Rankin, Pa., which church for the last 8 years has been enjoying the faithful ministry of the Rev. Julius Paal of Homestead, Pa. As pastor of our Pittsburgh, Pa. church, the present writer also was administrator of this small but exemplary congregation for years. It was really a blessed occasion to meet again (after 25 years) so many good people and friends. It was good to hear the words of the faithful old leader, Chief Elder Andrew Ternyik, who again expressed the deeply-felt gratitude of his congregation to our Federation for the friendly aid it had given to them, granting a mortgage loan which enabled them to buy the present handsome and valuable church property. The mortgage was paid off long ago, — but the gratitude and enduring friendship remains. We send our heartfelt greetings to the good people of Rankin and to our Branch No. 203, — the secretary of which is nobody else but our old friend, Andrew Ternyik. A “Testvériség”-ben olvastam, hogy a Kossuth ünnepélyre az adományokat az ön címére kell eljuttatni. Én nem vagyok régi amerikás s igy anyagilag ezt a minden magyart érintő ünnepélyt támogatni nem tudom, de elküldök egy, a hazám sorsáért aggódólélekkel irt versemet, amit bizonyára betudnak iktatni az ünnepi szavalatok közé.
