C., KIRÁLY IMRE 1945 junius 11. pénztárnok. Huszonkét osztály megint elkésett a havi jelentés beküldésével! Nagyobb pontosságot kérünk! ‘TAKE MY LIFE, AND LET IT BE CONSECRATED, LORD, TO THEE” Western Union relayed the unwaited and unwanted news of the final departure of the Rev. Dr. Louis Na- nassy. Grief did not fill my being, because I had never associated myself the word “loss” with him, who had now left us. As is natural under such circumstances, I began to recall my past pleasant relationships with him and finally concluded as I believe he would have concluded: “Man proposes, God disposes.” My next reaction was to make possible my presence at his funeral in Perth Amboy. In spite of the attendant war-time difficulties, I was able to be present with the host of respectful ministers and friends at the Perth Amboy Church. I took my place at the end of the ministerial procession and after entering the beautiful sanctuary, which Dr. Nanassy had been so instrumental in building both spiritually and physically, I found myself seated exactly at the foot of his coffin. During the impressive service, I noticed the all- white flowers on the casket, so gloriously reflecting and symbolizing the purity of his Christian character! There were no other flowers to detract from that simple single, white spray, which was all the more accentuated by the absence of others. i The stained glass window beyond the bier shed its soft and quieting light on him who was the center of our respect. To me it was more than a coincidence that this window should bear the name of Rev. Louis Nanassy and family as .donors. The combined colors of the stained glass harmonized into the a reassuring green of eternal hope. I was entranced by the symbol in the center of the window: crossed keys of gold and silver. The golden key of love silently ruling the background — just as the endless love of Dr. Nanassy prevailed his actions. And overlapping the key of love was the prominent silver key of sincere service — that service which erected not only the church in which he then rested but also the spacious orphanage at Ligonier, Pennsylvania The church service was impressive in all its simplicity, but the life and works of the Rev. Dr. Louis Nanassy was even more impressive. And as his body was borne between the two columns of an halfhundred ministers of several denominations and placed into the waiting hearse, I seemed to have heard him say: “Take myself, and I will be Ever, only, all for Thee ... Amen.” Columbus, O. Rev. Stephen Sziarto
