SEPTEMBER, 1942 COURAGEOUS FAITH If thou hast run with the footmen and they have wearied thee how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace wherein thou trustedt, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan? Jeremiah 12:5. ★ ★ ★ Put in modern language that means if you cannot meet the lesser difficulties, how are you going to behave in a crisis ? A good many people in the world have been finding the answer to that query in the last few years. Some of them have met the challenge and weathered the crisis. Others have gone down under the impact of adverse circumstances. Failure to face up to petty disappointments has undermined their morale and left them without reserves for the greater issue. How wilt thou do in the swelling of the Jordan?
