SEPTEMBER, 1940 The Everlasting Hills I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills From whence cometh my help. In these troubled days it is sometimes hard to believe that there are still places where nothing but peace and beauty dwell. Canada with its vast spaces has many a peaceful valley where no shadow falls but the shade of the tall trees, or the swift shadows cast by the clouds as they pass across the sun. Some will be fortunate enough to visit such lovely spots. As they lift up their eyes to the surrounding hills, may they remember to thank God for His unfailing kindness and help, and pray that war torn lands may soon know once again the peace and joy which is their right.
