Possibilities for partnership in the cross-border regions of Slovenia and Hungary between the libraries of the Muravidék region and the Vas and Zala county

The study presents the possibilities for partnerships in the cross-border regions of Slovenia and Hungary between the libraries of the Muravidék region and the Vas and Zala county, as well as the situation of the Hungarian community and its libraries in the Muravidék region since 1991, after the regime change. The study deals with the development of information society and the analysis of the relationship between Hungary and the Muravidék region (Slovenia) in the time of globalisation within the European Union. It also brings up the question of what is the universal responsibility of national libraries in Slovenia, what should be considered as a value in the first place and what sorts of online paths should be developed on the area of information transfer. The study offers a concept for establishing a Hungarian database in the Lendava Library, which would, through processing and digitalising valuable works, contribute to new scientific findings. The Hungarian database would be placed in the Hungarica section of the library and would represent small windows in the digital world on the field of Hungarian book culture in the Muravidék region.
