ENGLISH LANGUAGE EDITION OF «ITTVAKÖfcT VOL. II. No. 2. OCTOBER, 1976 Official publication of the Revolutionary Council of the HUNGÁRIA FREEDOM FIGHTER MOVEMENT THE FLAME OF THE REVOLUTION IS STILL BURNING! mere ten friendly” soviet teams Every world-view is based on two major components: one is a picture of the world and the other is a lifeplan. In the world-picture the past and present experiences crystalize ... in turn—the composition of a life-plan is determined by the events and judgements formulated in the worldpicture. The life-plan must be then an answer to the lessons learned from past experiences and from present conditions . . . The owners of a major American oil company must have a world-view of their own and most assuredly they have a lifeplan for the future of their company for the next one-hundred years as well. One of their full page advertisement reads: Celebrate America’s Tricentennial 100 years early. Atlantic Richfield invites you on a journey into the future. The Triceritennial America will change a great deal by the year 2076. Tell us what you think those changes should be. and the managers of the oil company extends an invitation to celebrate America’s Tricentennial 100 years early! Before there is a revolution there must be a seed of revolution. There must be a reason for which the people will rise up and shout to the heavens that: We cannot endure any more!—that: We will not take any more! On October 23, 1956, there were all the reasons on earth for the people of oppressed Hungary to say “NYET!” to the Soviet-Russian overlords and smeared the walls and factories and schools with their demand, “Russkie Poshly Domoy!” The students of Budapest or Szeged or Debrecen or Pécs and all the youth across Hungary marched to the Petőfi and Bern statues and once again pledged allegiance to their true motherland and bowed down their heads to their own true God. This they soon expressed through the radio waves and by toppling to the pavement the Russian-Bolshevik bronze god-symbol of Jossif Visarionovich Stalin. The old colors of glory were flying once again throughout the land that Trianon had left behind. The hopes of other Hungarians suffering under a double yoke were again renewed in Erdély, in Délvidék, in Nyugat-Magyarország, in the Felvidék and in the Kárpátalja regions that Trianon threw over to the gluttonish Rumanians, Yugoslavians, Austrians, Czechs, and Ukranians, like bones tossed to mad hungry dogs. The people of Hungary and Hungarians all over the world fought and shivered from cold and hunger. Children and soldiers bled on the streets and in bombed out hospitals side by side but soon the nation was breathing freely again. For a week the oldest people and culture of this world found itself again FREE, wounded, yes, but again FREE! In the midst of blood and tears and suffering there was also celebration. The feeling of brotherhood and passion, of Hungarian for Hungarian and for all that was Magyar and historical saturated every minute of those October days of twenty years ago. Before there is a celebration there must be a seed of celebration. There must be a reason for which the people will rise in joy and sing to the heavens that: We do not have to suffer any more!—that:We will create great things again!—-because: “We have risen from near death again!” The people of Hungary relit the FLAME of the REVOLUTION from the fire of their hearts which slavery and the lies of centuries could not put out, and THE FLAME OF THE REVOLUTION IS STILL BURNING!! This is the FLAME that kept the life in the people of Hungary after the bloody November 4, twenty years ago. This is the FLAME that built highways in place of caved-in roads and muddy byways that the Russian tanks left behind. This is the FLAME that built highrise apartments, schools, hospitals and tourist homes on top of the ruins caused by the soviet bombs. This is the FLAME that created and fertilized the backyard gardens and erected garages to supplement the plenty that the soviet comrad religiously takes away. This is the FLAME that constructed world famous communication systems and electric locomotives to make the world a better place to live in, regardless of the soviet presence and imperialism. This is the FLAME that fired the Magyar olympian and the champion athlete to victory every year and every four years since 1956 inspite of the occasional token losses to the Hungarian soldiers join the revolutionary students and proudly carry the flags of traditionary Hungary. From other flags the people ripped out the soviet-imperialist inspired foreign emblems and the flag of the October 23. 1956 HUNGARIAN REVOLUTION became the red white and green flag with a hole. This is the FLAME that produced geniouses in the fields of art, music, theatre and the sciences to replace the ugliness, the war noises, the hypocracy of soviet-slav and foreign born cultural stresses and snobbery. This is the FLAME that fired the intuition of the Hungarian historians, linguists, philologists, archeologists, and theologists to find and rediscover the TRUE HERITAGE of the Magyars. These scholars are present and are working relentlessly and untiringly within and without Hungary even when the false and foreign-blooded are outselling for judas-money those very people that feed them! This is the FLAME that continues to bring the old and new folk songs and folk tales to the lips of Hungarian mothers and grandparents so that the Magyar word will survive for another thousand years! This is the FLAME that almost brought Soviet-imperialism to its knees in those historical days twenty years ago. The Magyars were superpowered by their TRUTH and desire for FREEDOM which enA soviet tank incapacitated by the bazookas of the Hungarian freedomfighters in the last days of October 1956 being inspected by people on the streets of Budapest. in present day Hungary to bring Russian militarism to tremble and confusion. This is the FLAME that will enable Hungary to survive the twentieth century’s Trianons, Yaltas, and Helsinkis because the true Magyar believes in his ONE GOD, in his ONE NATION, in the ONE SUPERNATURAL TRUTH and in the RESURRECTION OF GREAT HUNGARY! This FLAME is more powerful than the nuclear bomb! Any Soviet or foreign terror, oppression, exploitation and injustices can be overcome by it now and in the future as we overcame through the past thousands of years. This is the FLAME that gives eternal life to the fallen heroes of October, 1956. Their heroism and selfless sacrifice assured the existence of Hungary for the next thousand years which thousand years will be even more glorious than the past thousands have been. This is the FLAME that moved the intellects like: I. Bobula, Gy. Burján, Z. Vasváry, C. M. Csery, F. Szálasi, J. Deér, P. Vágó, Badiny- Jós, T. Baráth, Zs. Kovács, A. Zakar, S. Csőké, J. Aczél, T. This is the FLAME that makes US ALL responsible as inheritors and valid interpreters of the past and imaginative builders of the future Hungary. The sons of other nations think a hundred years ahead—the sons and doughters of Magyars marked with their blood the next thousand years! This is the FLAME—the same FLAME that sparkles in the eyes of the members and revolutionary leaders of the HUNGÁRIA FREEDOMFIGHTERS MOVEMENT who are dedicated zealously to the love of country, tradition and to the inevitable freedom that will come to HUNGARY and to Hungarians at home and abroad. In this spirit we remember those revolutionary days of October 1956 and bow our heads in deep respect to those who sacraficed their lives and fortunes for the GLORY OF HUNGARY! THE FLAME HAD BEEN LIT! THE FLAME IS STILL BURNING! THE FLAME OF 1956 WILL NEVER DIE OUT!---- MÉN-APÓ
