PAGE 8 FIGHTER Just like the “FIGHTER” such a modest publication was a 17th century political journal published by Ferenc Rákóczi, a Hungarian national hero of independence. His paper was a proclamation, written in Latin, the official language of the times. It was named: “Recrudescunt vulnera gentis hungarae”, in English: “The wounds of Hungary are reopened”. It was written to awaken Europeans and speak up for Hungary. In the 20th century, for almost fifty years “Justice for Hungary” was the national cry, because in the Trianon peace treaty Hungary was unjustly torn apart. In 1945 the left ower was handed to the Soviet Union and in 1956 Hungary was condemned to bleed to death, forgotten by the nations of the world that the cause was the freedom of the whole world. in these years almost half of the population of Hungary was scattered all over the world. Today the Hungarian is present in every part of the world as scientist, artist, politician and worker. He is proud of his past and loyal to his new home. This is not only a Hungarian symbol of sorrow, but also a signal to remind other nations, that the strongest and the greatest nation in the world can fall if the political intrigue replaces leadership. The geographical position and natural resources have helped the United States to become the leading world powtr. She became the symbol of freedom, because there was nothing in the way of the individual initiative. Her liberalism was helpful until the pseudo-liberals have prostituted the system with their destructive programs. And since every nation becomes ill when evil forces take advantage of her institutions, the very honest constitutional rights become the tool for the protection of the destructive pseudo liberal element. The United States is still the greatest world power, although she faces dangerous Communist opposition. The main reason for concern in the stability of the United States is the destructive internal forces, which operate in the framework of liberal institutions, originally protected by the constitution as freedom to construct not freedom to destruet. The leading American patriots are well aware that the once strong liberal institutions have become the road to decay and anarchy. The American patriots are working hard to uplift the nation, to save the nation until there is time to do so. In these crucial hours of this nation, the English language publication of the Hungária Freedom Fighter Movement joins the forces of the American patriots. With a thousand year old nation’s political perspective we want to contribute as much as possible, to the efforts of American patriots. We want to do our share of moral obligation with our publication. We want to help to bring to the public ’s attention, how the pseudoliberals called liberals and bolsevies are preparing to seize total power. The mere fact that the Communist ideology was able to enslave half of the people of the world, clearly indicates that unrestrieeted liberalism will lead to decay instead of progress. In 1956, during the days of bloody battles, the Hungarian Freedom Fighters had no time to publish a political program. In spite of this, one could detect the horizons of a new social-political order. In essence it was neither Communist nor Liberal-Capitalist, but a synthesis of individual freedom and social justice in Christian tradition. It was based on the principle, that the constuctive initiative of the individual must obtain community support, but the very same community would oppose any destructive ideas and nonproductive programs. In this synthesis the individual can exercise his freedom to the point he does not infringe upon the interests of the community. “The primary objective of statesman and honest citizens should be to eliminate any class struggle. They should work for the common good of everyone. With the principles of solidarity example should be given, that in place of the Communist and Capitalist systems a new regime can be brought far superior to either one, characterized by security, stability and progress.” These are a few of the thoughts that appeared in the Hungarian journal “SZIY” on November the third 1956. With this constructive spirit, the Hungarian Freedom Fighter Movement joins the Patriotic Americans and releases a journal, a proclimation the “FIGHTER”. On our colums Hungarians will tell their experiences in their struggle for survival. Will warn about dangers they have faced before and America faces today. American patriots will declaire how they see the future of this great Republic, and what one can do to save the Nation. TIBOR MAJOR Wallace Petition Drive Starts In Ohio As a result of series of meetings, planning and legal counseling the Ohio Wallace supporters have launched a petition drive in order to place former Alabama Governor George C. Wallace on the 1968 Ohio ballot as a third party presidential candidate. The name of the party has been determined as the George C. Wallace American Independent Party. Gov. Wallace’s supporters have used the American Independent Party name in many states. The Ohio Petition Drive has started on March 4th 1968. Wallace supporters’ aim is to obtain the 433.000 signatures, which is the required number in the State of Ohio. The Ohio Petition Drive is headed by a former Hungarian Freedom Fighter Louis F. Molnár, a member of the Hungária Freedom Fighters Movement.
