Primary vitreoretinal lymphoma felfedezésre, míg idegrendszeri érintettséggel nem jár. A PIOL- tünetek kialakulása és a definitiv diagnózis meghozatala közötti késés 4-40 hónap (18). Az uveitis kivizsgálása során talált pozitív teszteredmények sok esetben fél­­revihetik, illetve késleltethetik a végső diagnózis felállítást. A pri­mer intraocularis lymphoma di ­agnosztikai és terápiás kihívás. Csak a szemészek, az onkológu­sok, az idegsebészek, a radiológu­sok, a radioterapeuták és a patoló­­gusok interdiszciplináris együtt­működésével lehet megfelelő di­agnózist felállítani és a beteget kezelni.
