későbbi hisztológiai vizsgálat során endotheliumhiányt mutató szemek egyikén sem tapasztaltuk a transzplantátum tapadási elégtelenségét.

A DSAEK-et követő transzplantátum-elégtelenség miatt végzett műtétek során kivont mintáink szövettani vizsgálata arra utal, hogy a DSAEK sima határfelszínt, heg- és reakciómentes sebgyógyulást eredményezhet. Ez ad alapot a műtét után elérhető tiszta corneához és jó látásélességhez.5,16 A magunk és a mások által végzett hisztopatológiai vizsgálatok komoly információkat nyújtanak a sebésznek, mert azt is jelzik, hogy jó eredmény létrejöttéhez számos műtéttechnikai buktatót kell elkerülni. Érvényesíteni kell a sebkészítésre és a sebzárásra vonatkozó általános szemsebészeti szabályokat, de DSAEK-specifikus tényezőkre is figyelni kell: maradéktalanul ki kell vonni a szemből a leválasztott Descemet-hártyát, a transzplantátumot a donor cornea lamelláris metszésfelszínén belüli trepanációval kell a létrehozni, valamint a minimumra szükséges visszaszorítani az endothelium károsítását okozó manipulációkat és hatásokat.
