Hatvani I., Brooser G.: Positioning cushion for the post-operative treatment of retinal detachment patients For patients who were operated on because of retinal detachment with and without vitrectomy in the post-operative period a specially moulded positioning cushion was devised. It was stuffed with a special material which was soft but could not be compressed. Another advantage of the cushion was that it is taking the curvature of the body over and as a negative imprint it is holding the patient’s body secure. The method is especially useful in cases where the prone position is necessary. 175
