Благодаря его новому открытию, прессованию, стало возможно изготавливать линзы этого нового типа простыми средствами. Технологию изготовления переняли также специалисты многих зарубежных стран. Однако за бурным развитием контактологии в западных странах в 70-е гг. венгерские специалисты не поспевали из-за материальных трудностей, вследствие чего Венгрия до некоторой степени отстала в этом отношении. Надо стараться поскорее наверстать упущенное. G у ő г f f у I.: The beginnings and development of contactology in Hungary Hungarian ophthalmologists played on a world scale an important role in the development of contact lenses. Still during his stay in Hungary Josef Dallos discovered the individual scleral contact lens through which he became worldwide known. The author himself was one of the first who produced lenses out of acrylate. The technique of sampling and the main phases of the manufacturing process are reported. In 1953 the author was also among the first in Europe who introduced the prescription and production of corneal contact lenses. With his invention of a new method for pressing it was made possible to produce the new type lenses with simple devices. The manufacturing process was taken over by technicians of other countries abroad. In the 1970s the rapid development of contactology in Western Europe could not be kept up in Hungary because of scarcity of means therefore in these days we are not on the mark. We must do our best to catch up with the development. I. Györffy: Anfänge und Entfaltung der Kontaktologie In der Vervollkommnung der Kontaktgläser kann auch den ungarischen Augenärzten eine weltweit bedeutende Rolle zugesehrieben werden. József Dallos entdeckte, als er noch in Ungarn lebte, die individuellen skleralen Kontaktgläser mit denen er weltbekannt wurde. Der Autor der gegenwärtigen Arbeit war einer der ersten, der diese aus unzerbrechlichem Akrylat herstellte. Die wichtigeren Einzelheiten der Technik der Probenentnahme und Herstellung werden bekanntgegeben. In 1953 führte Autor, unter den ersten in Europa, die Verschreibung und Herstellung der kornealen Haftlinsen ein. Seine Entdeckung eines neuen Preßverfahrens ermöglichte das Herstellen dieser neuartigen Linsen mittels einfachen Mitteln. Die Methode wurde von mehreren ausländischen Fachleuten übernommen. Mit der schnellen Entwicklung der 70iger Jahre in den Industrieländern konnte jedoch Ungarn, infolge mangelnder Mittel, nicht Schritt halten und führte somit zu einem gewissen Rückstand. Man muß trachten diesen je schneller aufzuhoien. 58
