The authors demonstrate with statistical data that if it is the cornea compatible with the А, В, О blood-groups that is transplanted into a relatively sound yet vascularised cornea, results are better than in case the compatibility is ignored. Beside the А, В, О system, the role of the bloodgroups D, С, с E, e, Cellano, Duffy, Lewis, Kell and P, as well as that of the leucocyte and thrombocyte antigens were examined. Results were opposed by the 4-zone method, according to the compatibility or incompatibility of the different blood-types.

Mit Hilfe statistischer Methode wurde nachgewiesen, dass wenn in die verhältnismässig intakte, aber gefässreiche Umgebung den ABO Blutgruppen entsprechend kompatible Hornhaut transplantiert wird, so werden bessere Ergebnisse erzielt als wenn die Kompatibilität nicht berücksichtigt wird. Ausser dem ABO-System wurden auch die D, C, c, E, e, Cellano, Duffy, Lewis, Keil und P Blutgruppen geprüft, weiterhin auch die Rolle der Leukocyten- und Thrombocytenantigene. Die Ergebnisse wurden mit der Vierfeldmethode, der Kompatibilität bzw. Inkompatibilität der verschiedenen Blutgruppen gemäss miteinander verglichen.
