KI MIRE EMLÉKEZETT MÁRCIUS 15-ÉN A DUALIZMUS KORÁBAN? 1246 a jelen tagadását fejezik ki, és 1848 utópiája arra serkenti őket, hogy tettleg is szálljanak szembe a jelennel az utópikus cél megvalósítása érdekében. Ezt a jelenséget a dualizmus kori március 15-ei ünnepségeken gyakran megfigyelhetjük. Tehát 1848 mítosza, ezen belül a március 15-ei ünnep (ellentétben a kötelező április 11-ei ünneppel) képes volt a dualizmus korszakában megjelenő politikai konfliktusokban újabb és újabb tartalommal gazdagodni a különféle emlékező csoportok számára, akik ily módon mindig megtalálhatták benne a számukra fontos, aktuális politikai mondanivalót. Ezért is válhatott március 15-e oly élő és eleven ünneppé a korszakban. Lovas SUMMARY The aim of this paper is to clarify the role and importance of the most celebrated Hungarian feast in national memory. How did the day reflect the socio-political conflicts of the time? Why could it not be officially celebrated under the reign of Franz Joseph? During the discussion of the need for an official national holiday, the article also examines the circumstances of the newly created state celebration of April 11. In connection with the festivities, the article describes some elements and rites of the celebration and the symbolic occupation of space.
