776 MERÉNYI-METZGER GÁBOR BENYOVSZKY MÓRIC CSALÁDJA PARISH REGISTERS RELATING TO THE LIFE OF COUNT MÓRIC BENYOVSZKY by Merényi-Metzger Gábor (Summary) The present study and source publication deals with the parish registers relating to the eventful life of the most renowned Hungarian traveller and adventurer, count Móric Benyovszky. The goal to achieve was to gather all the original parish registers connected to Benyovszky which were made in the course of his life, that is, between 1746 and 1786. During my reasearch in the archives of eight countries (Hungary, Austria, France, Croatia, Poland, Slovakia, Mauritius, United States) on three continents (Europe, Africa, Northern America), I have been able to collect much of the material I was looking for. Thus, the present paper publishes the original birth certificate of Móric Benyovszky, alongside a false baptismal register from 1777 and a marriage certificate from 1787. It also contains the baptismal registers of four among his five children, as well as the death certificates of his three children who died before their father. Benyovszky Móric * Verbó, 1746.
