214 CSAPODY TAMÁS of having severely beaten further four, and of having been present at the massacre of some 700 people at Cservenka. For having committed all these war crimes András Tálas was executed in 1947 at Budapest. Contemporary press, and then the operative investigation carried out by the State Security Service between 1967 and 1977, unanimously presented Tálas as the murderer of Miklós Radnóti and of his fellow captives. On the basis of information received from the Service, the literary historian Gábor Tálas made the whole story part of the Hungarian literary canon. The content of the dossier entitled „The Murderers of Abda" finally came to publicity in 2007, when it also apppeared that András Tálas is buried in block No 298 of the New Public Cemetery at Rákoskeresztúr among the martyrs of the nation.
