1498 BARTA RÓBERT kat nyitott, széles körben ismertté vált,8 1 befolyásos politikusokat és államférfiakat inspirált. A magyar származású világpolgár műveinek gondolatai tetten érhetők az európai integrációs folyamatot megalapozó tervekben, a modern világ globális problémái miatt pedig újra aktuálisak és megfontolásra érdemesek. A WORLD CITIZEN IN THE INTERNATIONAL POLITICS Emery Reves and W. S. Churchill by Róbert Barta (Summary) The essay proposes to survey Emery Reves's (Révész Imre) political, personal and business career from the early 1920's until his last active decade (1960's) and his multi-level relations with W S. Churchill. Emery Reves was a Hungarian born (1904. Bácsíoldvár-1981. Montreux) journalist, businessman and literary agent and later on he became famous as literary agent of W S. Churchill. Reves and his company (Cooperation Press Service) became the main European and overseas distributor of Churchill's articles on current world events until the death of the great British statesman. From 1941 Reves worked in the USA where he successfully managed to publish the war memoirs of Churchill. After WWII he appeared as one of the most important business and personal intimate of the former British premier. So began a profitable business relationship that grew over time into personal friendship. The career, activity and works of Reves are almost unknown in Hungary although we have some personal letters and other sources published in English. The study is focusing on the literary and press activities of Churchill and the personal career, ideas, works and business of Reves and then put these aspects in the framework of international contacts. As an autonomous thinker Reves wrote two books on a would be new world order and these works became credo of world federalists (A Democratic Manifesto /1942/, The Anatomy of Peace /1945/). Reves was appeared to be one of the founders of post WWII international federalist movement and his idea on internationally legitimized world government inspired politicians and decision makers worldwide. The study emphasizes how a Hungarian origin world citizen (Reves) has tried to build up an international press company to circulate Churchill's pro democracy writings and ideas around the world. The career and relationship of Churchill and Reves improves that business network with political power and international press influence sometimes could manage to shape the outcome of international events. 81 1953-ban 750 ezer „világpolgár" támogató aláírásával létrehozták a világkormány alapokmányát (Declaration of World Government). A fóderalista mozgalom önálló folyóirattal rendelkezik (World Citizen News - WCN) és Reves-t a mozgalom alapító atyái között tartják számon. Garry Davis: The Emery Reves Saga.
