Mindkét pártnak alapvető feladata a rendszer stabilitásának és saját hatalmának biztosítása volt, s ezt mindkét párt sikeresen megoldotta. A különbségek hangsúlyozása mellett, a számos párhuzam azt mutatja, hogy a közös konzervatív értékrend — az eltérő történelmi fejlődés ellenére — néhány tekintetben hasonló struktúrákat eredményezhet.
