Spitalul Municipal

The City Hospital The actual building of the so-called City Hospital on the Heroes of the Revolution Square was built in 1914. Its original destination was to house a state school for boys. At the request of Dr. Béla Lükő, the building was transformed into a hospital, in 1919, being the first institution of this kind belonging to the city. In 1951, the hospital was extended occupying the nearby building which was built in 1906 as a commercial high school, thus it was similar to the hospital building from the architectural point of view. In a short time, a passage was built linking the two buildings. The building has a basement, a ground floor and two floors. The symmetry of the main faţade is broken by the triangular elements which rise above the line of the roof. On one of these stylized gables, the coat of arm of Satu Mare city is placed. The faţade is decorated with brick and rustic stone, forming a heightened plinth. 104
