megőrizték a régi, művészileg igen értékes ikonosztázt. A falat díszítő ikonok arról tanúskodnak, hogy a festőjük teljes mértékben ismerte és követte a bizánci kánonokat. Az ikonokat 1976-ban restaurálták. (DB).

Bicău (comuna Pomi)

The Orthodox Church of “Archangels St. Michael and Gabriel”

The old wooden church was burnt in 1876. The present building was made between 1880 and 1890, and it has a single nave, with a semicircular apse. The windows of the nave and of the tower above the nave are also semicircular. The tower has two levels: the first is provided with twin windows, and the second with a single large window on each side. The old iconostasis with great artistic value was kept in the church. The icons decorating the walls of the church show that the painter observed the Byzantine principles. The icons were restored in 1976. (DB).

Bixad. Mănăstirea ortodoxă „Sf. Petru şi Pavel”

In hotarul satului Bixad, cunoscut în vechime pentru băile sale, într-un peisaj pitoresc la poalele Munţilor Oaşului este situată mănăstirea cu hramul Sf. Petru şi Pavel. Conform unor documente, mănăstirea a fost fondată în anul 1700, de către călugărul Isaia venit din Muntele Athos, care a fost ucis în anul 1701, după un conflict cu nobilii şi preoţii locali. Mănăstirea a fost reconstruită de călugări greco-catolici aparţinând ordinului basilitan în anul 1702, fiind sfinţită la 12 iunie. Aceiaşi călugări au început construirea bisericii din piatră. In construcţie au fost antrenaţi patru meşteri, dintre care unul a fost Jacobus Simmeth, fiul meşterului din Mukacevo. Biserica mănăstirii este lărgită cu două încăperi laterale pen-35
