been held in the village!Substantial changes have also occurred to the traditional costume, much removed of the traditional style, especially in color decorative themes, but also in tailoring typology which has kept, for the woman suit, the style of the shirt with yoke and cheptar, sleeves doubled in length, the skirt becoming shorter, adding underneath a kind of an underskirt made of raffia, with the role of keeping it „flatulent". The decoration done in the past by the selection in the loom or hand embroidered in vivid chromatic choices (red, orange, yellow, blue), being replaced nowadays with lace, braid, black trimmings, over which they apply Swarovski crystals. The female suit, highly designed with crystals, ends up weighing even up to 20 kilograms! These changes are also being reflected in wedding outfits, especially for the bride, finery head and the crown turning into a conglomeration of multicolored beads and Swarovski chrystals of different sizes, many strings of beads around the neck, completing the „bridal finery". Its weight alongside of the costume one (10-15 kg!) seem to prepare the bride for hard time to come! Unlike women, few men use to wear traditional costumes, not wearing anymore the slack, but ordinary trousers, black fabric, the shirt respecting the traditional tailoring but matching the color female suit design. The wedding outfits, traditional clothes, also reflect the changes in social life, thus increasing economic power, standing out simultaneously the desire and the pride to wear them, as a powerful symbol of identity, intensified due to the distance from home, by going to work abroad, among foreigners. Moreover, wherever they are gone all over the wide world, people from Certeze always return to their village, the wedding is required to be celebrated in their village!
