Comlăuşa, Batarci, Turţ. In 1390 the prince Bale had worn the title of “comite of Ugocea”, which Drag wore in 1392. The juridical land of the former county was called “Oláhság” in the Hungarian documents, since the 16th century. Before the First World War, Ugocea was a small county in Hungary with an area of 1213 square km and 91755 inhabitants. The county was situated at the bottom of the Păduroşi (Forestry) Carpathians on the upper course of the Tisza river, which cut the land from east to west in two almost equal parts. The district center of the county was Seleuş (Nagy Szöllös). After First World War, a small part from this side of Tisa was attached to Romania. This region was part of the Satu Mare County, under the name of Ugocea network, comprising 18 localities: Băbeşti (1261 poss. Babun), Batarci (1378 poss. valachalis Batharch), Bocicău (1572 Bochko), Cidreag (1319 Hydegre, villa Chudrug), Comlăuşa (1378 Komlos), Dobolţ (1323 Dabouch), Drăguşeni (village belonging to Turulung), Gherţa Mare (1351 Gerche), Gherţa Mică (1393 Gerche et alia Gerche), Halmeu (1217 terra Holmy), Porumbeşti (1274 terra Kukynus), Şirlău (belongs to Batarci), Tarna Mare (1430 Torna), Tămăşeni Biserica ortodoxă din Batarci Православна церква у селі Batarci Batarci ortodox templom The Orthodox church of Batarci 113
