The founding of the István Báthori Calvinist College and the building of the monument of millecentenarium at the bridge of the Kraszna River, were two important achievments in the process of urbanization. The civil initiatives comprised the action of putting into function the zoological park and the botanical garden, thus contributing to the protection of nature and to the promotion of educational and popularization activities.

Nagyecsed was offered a big chance to become a town, and a serious responsibility for future development. Opening of the borders offers an extra chance of development by restoring historical relations with the areas of Satu Mare County, in Romania. Implementing the common programs will have a positive effect for the town as well as for the entire region.
