when George Rákóczi the 1st took over, in his turn, the seven counties, the domain of Ecedea included 80 villages and 3 towns, located on the territory of six counties. The huge domain, including Cămin, remained in the property of Rákóczi Family until the beginning of the 18th century. As far as the evolution of the population of Cămin Village is concerned, the earliest, more or less complete source dates from 1613, when there were recorded 50 families of serfs and cottars. In 1648, the information on the population of the village is more complex: other categories of villagers were recorded, too. Thus, 73 families were living in Cămin, occupying the same number of serf parcels. Besides those, there were other nine inhabited parcels. In addition, nine of the families in Cămin were exempted from tax payment; while thirteen were free families (craftsmen or soldiers). 32 of the villagers had the duty to provide workdays for the maintenance at the castle of the domain center. Given the swamp’s proximity, the villagers of Cămin villagers used to pay, in addition to the regular products charges (cereals or wine), a special charge in fish, being compelled to hand over a bucket of eels annually. The village was severely damaged during the rebellion led by Francis Rákóczi the 2nd, in the early years of the 18th century.
