♦ Dining-room The dining-room is one of the most important rooms, indispensable to any household, indifferent of the owners social status. However, between the living-rooms of the high society and those of the bourgeois, there are major differences, which mark the social status. One of the most prominent differences lied in the way the room was used, which in the case of the high society it strictly served the dining events, the two or three special moments of the day when the entire family stood altogether. When guests arrived for dinner, the living-room became a space of social display, meant to show the owners social status. This dual utility had to be reflected in setting, dimensions, furniture, and the decorations and accessories. Furniture, especially chairs and the large-sized table sat in the center of the room and were made of dark wood. Family portraits or rich mural decorations accessorized the living-room. Furniture quality came along with dining table sets, silverware, embroidery and porcelain vessels. The atmosphere is both private, dedicated to the family, and representative for social status. Wall-clock, 19th cent. ♦ Ladies’ Boudoir The boudoir had been, starting with the 18th century, a room dedicated to the mistress of the house where she received her guests. During the 19th century, the room had lost of its public role and turned into a private space for the women of the house, similar to the office or the man’s room. The space reserved for the boudoir in the house, was one of the keys to the interior home division. In general, the boudoir holds at least one particular piece of architecture which made it unique; it was emphasized by furniture arrangement and by its setting so that the view at the window was pleasant. The room arrangement is guided by ♦ Der Speisesaal Einer der wichtigsten Räume des Hauses, seine Existenz ist eine Voraussetzung für jedes Zuhause, unabhängig vom sozialen Status des Eigentümers. Trotzdem gibt es einen großen Unterschied zwischen dem Speisesaal der bürgerlichen und den der oberen Aristokratie, der durch die Etikette bestimmt wird. Einer der bedeutendsten Abweichung liegt daran, dass der Nutzung des Raumes bei den oberen Kreisen ausschließlich auf die täglichen Mahlzeiten beschränkt ist. Gleichzeitig aber, bezogen auf die sozialen Elite ist der Speisesaal wahrscheinlich der einzige Ort, an dem die ganze Familie zwei- oder dreimal am Tag zusammenkommt. Im Falle eines Mittag- oder Abendessensbesuchs war der Speisesaal auch nur ein Ort für formelle Kontakte. Die doppelte Funktion des Esszimmers sollte sich in Lage, Größe, Einrichtung, und sogar in Verzierung und Zubehör widerspiegeln. Das wichtigste Möbelstück ist der große Tisch mit Stühlen in der Mitte des Raumes aus dunklem Massivholz. Die Familienporträts an den Wänden sowie die reichhaltigen Wanddekorationen sorgen für die familiäre Atmosphäre. Aber auch das soziale Prestige wird zum Ausdruck gebracht und ist für den Speisesaal von wesentlicher Bedeutung. Die Qualität der Möbel wird durch Geschirr, Silberwaren, Stickereien und Porzellan ergänzt. Einrichtungsstücke: 1. Esstisch und Stühle, Ende 19. Jh.; 2. Beistelltisch und Hocker, Ende 19. Jh.; 3. Jh. ♦ Das Boudoir der Dame Ab dem 18. Jahrhundert wurde das Boudoir von Hausherrin genutzt, um Gäste zu empfangen. Im 19. Jahrhundert verliert diese Art von Raum ihre öffentliche. Bestimmung und dient der Privatsphäre der Damen. Die gleiche Funktion sollte der Arbeitszimmer der Männer erfüllen. Ein Schlüsselelement der Innenausstattung ist die Auswahl des am besten geeigneten RäumlicJikeit des Schlosses für das Boudoir. Die Fenster des auserwählten Raums sollten eine angenehme Aussicht und eine gute Beleuchtung bieten. Die Funktion sollte auch durch die Platzierung von Möbeln betont werden.
