the Great was built in 1855. Here is the birth-place of Alexandru Pteancu (1878-1956), the chief inspector of the secondary education in Transilvania during the interwar period. Aciua was mentioned for the first time in 1394. It belonged to the domain of the Drágfis during the Middle Ages, similarly to the most of the neighboring villages. The Orthodox church St Demetrius was built in 1885. Bicău was mentioned in 1394 for the first time as property of the Drágfi family. The Károlyi family became its owner after 1711.
