in Transylvania and collected documents regarding the 1848a nd 1849 events. On 13th of May 1851, she was arrested and sentenced to 10 years in prison, being re­leased after 6 years. A memorial tablet dedicated to her was set on the Roman Catholic chapels wall, while an obelisk with her portrait and that of her sister, Emma and brother-in-law, August De Gerando was erected in the yard of the Calvinist church. The Calvinist church was built in 1890, initially with a wooden tower. The current brick tower was only built after the renovation works of 1941 and 1942. The Orthodox church Saint Elijah dates back to 1957, while the Roman Catholic chapel was built in 1940. Amaţi was mentioned at the earliest in 1317 as property of the Szántói family. By the end of the centu­ry, the Báthory family took over and owned the estate during the whole Middle Ages. The village was com­pletely destroyed during the revolt led by prince Fran­cis Rákóczi II. There are two churches in the settle­ment. The present day Calvinist church was finished in 1827. Previously, a building erected at the beginning of the 18th century had been in use. The Orthodox church was built in 1880 and Saint Michael and Gabriel Arch­angels are its patrons. Ambud was mentioned in 1373 for the first time and its history is closely linked to that of Păuleşt s. The construction works of the present day Calvinist church were finished in 1864, previously gbeing used a wood­en church. Hrip was mentioned in a 1370 for the first time, belonging to the Drágfi domain of Beltiug. Lat­er it was divided among several owners. The Calvinist church was built between 1798 and 1810. The Orthodox church of Archangels St Michael and Gabriel was built in 1896.
