Lobont Puscas Maria - Dobrescu Adela: Biserica de lemn din Soconzel (Satu Mare, 2010)

Pictura murală acoperă întreaga suprafaţă interioară a bisericii din Soconzel, în altar, naos şi pronaos, dar din păcate pictura este deteriorată. Ea se remarcă prin bogăţia programului iconografic, complexitatea rezolvărilor compoziţionale şi varietatea decorativă.

Pe peretele din pronaos, de-o parte şi de alta a uşii de la intrare, se află scena cu pilda celor “cinci fecioare înţelepte” şi a “celor cinci fecioare nebune”. Aceste personaje sunt de aceeaşi înălţime şi au aceeaşi fizionomie.

Pe peretele nordic al pronaosului, de la vest la est, se află pictate chipurile a şapte mucenice. Scena este încadrată atât în partea superioară cât şi în partea inferioară de chenare care conţin motivul vrejului şi al palmetei.

The mural painting covers the entire interior of the church of Soconzel: the altar, the naos, the pronaos. Unfortunately, the painting is deteriorated. Still, one can notice the richness of the iconography, the complexity of composition and the variety of decorations.

On the wall of the pronaos, on each side of the entrance door, the parable of “the five wise maidens” and “the five foolish maidens” is painted. The characters have the same height and the same physiognomy.

On the northern wall of the pronaos, from east to west, the faces of seven women-martyrs are painted. The scene is delimitated in the upper and lower side by frames decorated with the motifs of spindle and palmette.
