Objectives and Arguments for the Echological Restoration of the ler Valley

(Satu Mare - Bihor)

(Summary)

This work refers to the flora and fauna of the ler Valley - situated in the Northern Compartment of the Western Plain - and especially to the arguments in favor of setting up a generous project of ecological revival of the area. Dramatic changes suffered by the vegetation and fauna are pointed at, especially after the river bedding during 1967-1980 in order to give back agricultural lands. It also sets up an strong strategy to protect the few remaining habitats and species.
