389 An outstanding piece from Satu Mare’s Museum collection (Summary) This work’s goal is to make known a cup with lid, which, we consider that is one of the most valuable objects from Satu Mare’s silver ware collection. Without any craftsman seal (which was striked out as a result of inadequate and repeated restorations), proceeding from analogies in special literature and from catalogues, we do consider that the piece was manufactured in XVII-th century by a silversmith from Nürnberg. Both the cup and the lid represent an ensemble of Christian symbols, so meaningful in whole Middle Ages. But with this concise presentation the theme is far from being finished because it requires thorough researches in order to establish the autorship of this beautiful piece made of valuable metal The list of illustrations Fig. 1.
